I'm planning a vacation to the Dominican next month (December) and I'm a single 21 year old white woman going alone. Is it safe for me to do so or should I not go at all if I have no one to go with? Ive traveled to the Dominican republic and as a single female if youre gonna be doing the resort thing you should be pretty safe. Traveling outside the resort I would say I felt safe about 80% of the time.I found Dominicans to be quite friendly and helpful.and using common sense I managed to stay out of trouble. Dominican men can be agressive at times when trying to hook up, this is especially true at Bars/ Clubs as a single female I loved the northcoast of DR.around the cabarete area which had people from all over the world and most I would say were in the 16-30's range while the Beaches are way nicer in The Punta cana area.the resorts tend to be very spread out and cater more to a Honeymoon and Family crowd. In Cabarete I was able to walk to many places and distances were a short bus or taxi ride away. Santo Domingo was were I felt the most unsafe especially at night time. Standard ps/2 keyboard driver.
